Highest trade surplus by Country, 2023

China’s trade surplus was bigger than the combined surpluses of the next three countries highlighting its dominance in global manufacturing and exports, particularly to Southeast Asia, amidst changing global trade dynamics.
Germany’s robust performance was largely fueled by its automotive industry, with vehicles and parts constituting a significant portion of its exports.
Russia and Saudi Arabia maintained high surpluses, largely due to energy exports, though both saw declines compared to 2022. Ireland, Singapore, and Switzerland also featured prominently, reflecting their global trade and financial hub roles.
