There are approximately 304 million international migrants worldwide, making up about 3.7% of the global population in 2024.
The United States hosts the world’s largest immigrant population, reaching a record 51.6 million people (15.6% of its total population). The country gained over 5 million immigrants in the past two years, marking the fastest rise in its history.
Germany ranks as Europe’s top destination for immigrants, with its foreign-born population rising to 17.4 million (20.9% of the population) in 2024.
Saudi Arabia remains a global leader in foreign labor: over 40% of its 32 million residents are immigrants, mainly from South Asia, other Arab countries, and the Philippines. Saudi Arabia’s migrant workforce drives much of its economy.
