A Complete List of all Sporting Events of 2022
One of the year’s significant sporting events will be the highly anticipated 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar has been postponed from its original June date to November due to severe weather conditions.
This year Beijing will also be in the spotlight as it holds the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, 14 years after hosting the Summer Olympics and making history as the first city to host both events.
Other notable events in 2022 include the UEFA Women’s Euros in England, postponed, and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

1. January 2022
First Event: 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Football) – Cameroon

The 33rd Africa Cup of Nations will begin on January 9 in Cameroon, postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The competition will close, with the final on February 6.

The Australian Open 2022 is a Grand Slam tennis tournament held in Melbourne Park from January 17 to January 30, 2022. The Australian Open, the 54th Open Era’s first Grand Slam, will be hosted for the 110th time.
Professional tennis players will compete in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. In addition, in dollars and doubles competitions, junior and wheelchair players will compete.

For sponsorship reasons, the Guinness Six Nations Championship in 2022 will be known as the Guinness Six Nations.
It will be the 128th season of the Six Nations Championship, an annual rugby union championship contested by national teams from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales (including all its previous incarnations as the Home Nations Championship and Five Nations Championship).
The defending champions, Wales, will compete in the event. Despite losing to France in their final match of the 2021 tournament at the Stade de France, they finished first in the table.
Third Event: Super Bowl LVI (NFL) – SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, California, USA)

Super Bowl LVI is one of the most popular sporting events. The 2022 edition will undoubtedly be one of the best sporting events in the United States.

3. March 2022
First Event: 2022 Winter Paralympics – Beijing (China)

The 2022 Winter Paralympics (Chinese: 2022; pinyin: 2022 Nián Dngj Cánj Rén olnpkè Yùndnghu) are formally known as the XIII Paralympic Winter Games but are more often referred to as the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Games.
It is an international winter multi-sport event for impaired athletes that will take place from March 4 to 13, 2022, in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China.
Beijing will host both the Summer and Winter Paralympics for the first time. In addition, the Winter Paralympics will be held in China for the first time.
After Japan (Nagano 1998) and South Korea, China will be the third Asian country to have the Winter Paralympics (PyeongChang 2018).
Second Event: 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup (Cricket) – New Zealand
Date- March 4 – April 3, 2022
The 2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will be contested in New Zealand in March and April 2022, marking the tournament’s twelfth
iteration.
It was initially slated for February 6 to March 7, 2021, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed by one year. As a result, the International Cricket Council announced on December 15, 2020, that the tournament would be held from March 4-April 3, 2022.
New Zealand qualified as hosts automatically, with the ICC ODI Rankings determining all other qualification spots.
Third Event: 2022 Tokyo Marathon (Athletics) – Tokyo (Japan)

The Tokyo Marathon 2022 was scheduled to take place on March 6, 2022, will be canceled due to the postponement of the 2021 marathon.
As a result, runners who qualified for the Tokyo Marathon 2022 will be questioned about their ambitions for future races. The Tokyo Marathon 2021 was supposed to occur on March 7, 2022.

(Grand National (Horse Racing) 2022– Aintree Racecourse (Liverpool, England)

From Thursday, April 7 to Saturday, April 9, 2022, three days of top-level racing will take place, with nine Grade One races culminating in the greatest steeplechase of all time.
The Grand National, which is broadcast to over 500 million people in over 140 countries each year, is a race unlike any other, with its 40 contenders taking on Aintree’s unique and world-famous fences.
Third Event: 2022 Invictus Games – The Hague (The Netherlands)

According to the Duke of Sussex, Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, the fifth Invictus Games will be held in The Hague, Netherlands. Unfortunately, these Games were postponed from 2020 to 2021 and then again to 2022 due to Coronavirus.
The Invictus Games in The Hague will now take place in 2022, from April 16 to 22.
The Invictus Games are a series of athletic competitions held every four years. Over 500 contestants from 20 countries will compete in adaptive sports at The Hague 2020, hosted by Jaguar Land Rover. Across the course of a week, events will be held all over the city.
Fourth Event: 2022 World Snooker Championship (Snooker) – Crucible Theatre (Sheffield, England)
Date- April 16 – May 2, 2022
The 2022 World Snooker Championship is also known as the 2022 Betfred World Championship for sponsorship purposes. It is a professional snooker event that will take place in the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England, from April 16 to May 2, 2022.
Mark Selby is the defending champion, having won 2021 final 18–15 over Shaun Murphy.
Fifth Event: 2022 Boston Marathon (Athletics) – Boston (Massachusetts, USA)
Date- April 18, 2022
The 2022 Boston Marathon is an upcoming marathon race that will take place on April 18, 2022, in Boston, Massachusetts.
The race is expected to be run for the 126th time. All subjects must have received a complete COVID-19 vaccination. A total of 30,000 runners are allowed to compete.

First Event: 2022 Giro d’Italia (Cycling) – Hungary & Italy

The 105th season of the Italian Grand Tour will begin on Friday, May 6, and end on Sunday, May 29, with the Friday start allowing for an extra rest day and transit from Hungary to Italy on Monday, May 9.
The Corsa Rosa was scheduled to begin in Hungary in 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic caused RCS Sport to shift the race’s start to Sicily in October.
Second Event: 2022 F.A. Cup Final (Football) – Wembley Stadium (London, England)

The F.A. Cup Final will be held on May 14, 2022. The 2022 F.A. Cup Final will be the 141st edition of the competition, and it will be held at Wembley Stadium, as is customary.
Leicester City won its first F.A. Cup after defeating Chelsea 1-0 in front of a smaller attendance of 20,000 in the 2021 Final, owing to a goal from Youri Tielemans.
Third Event: 2022 UEFA Europa League Final (Football) – Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán (Seville, Spain)

The UEFA Europa League Final in 2022 will be the final match of the 2021–22 season. It is the 51st season of UEFA’s secondary club football competition in Europe. On May 18, 2022, it will be held at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Seville, Spain.
The final was initially scheduled for Budapest’s Puskás Aréna. However, the definitive hosts were changed back a year due to the last postponing and relocation of 2020, with Budapest hosting 2023 final instead.
The winners will compete in the 2022 UEFA Super Cup against the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League winners.
Fourth Event: 2022 PGA Championship (Golf) – Southern Hills Country Club (Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA)

Southern Hills Country Club will once again welcome the greatest golfers in the world for the 2022 PGA Championship, bringing major championship golf to the Tulsa area!

Fifth Event: 2022 French Open (Tennis) – Roland-Garros (Paris, France)

The French Open, or Roland-Garros, is a major tennis tournament held every two weeks at the Stade Roland-Garros in Paris, France. Every year in the middle of May.
Roland-Garros 2022 is a tennis tournament in France named after French aviator Roland Garros. The French Open is the most prestigious clay-court tournament in the world.
It’s the second of four super hit events held each year. The Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open are the other two tournaments. The French Open (Roland-Garros) 2022 is the only mega-event hosted on clay.
Sixth Event: 2022 European Rugby Champions Cup Final (Rugby Union) – Stade Vélodrome (Marseille, France)

On May 28, 2022, it will be held at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The final was slated to take place at Munich’s Allianz Arena.
However, the definitive hosts were changed back a year due to the last postponing and relocation of 2020, with Saint Petersburg hosting 2022 final instead.
6. June 2022
First Event: 2022 NBA Finals (Basketball) – TBC

The NBA will begin its 76th season on Thursday, October 19, 2021, with an 82-game regular season that will run from Thursday, October 19, 2021, through Sunday, April 10, 2022.
The Play-in tournament begins on Tuesday, April 12, and concludes on Friday, April 15, 2022, with the NBA playoffs 2022 beginning on Saturday, April 16.
Second Event: 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans (Motorsport) – Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans, France)

The 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans will be an automobile endurance race contested on June 11–12, 2022, on the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s 24-hour race will be held for the 90th time.
